Compressibility characteristics of collapsible gypseous soil: A review

Abstract Gypseous soil is located in dry and semi-arid areas unsaturated conditions this type of becomes a serious issue for engineering geotechnical when it wet. the properties structure change, exposed to soaking leaching, because gypsum dissolved water causing rupture bonds that hold particles together reduction suction power holds them together. Large settlements potential collapse will happen which cause problems constructions built on it. This paper gives an overview some gypseous soils previous research behavior soil. It was found increases with increasing content void ratio, decreases initial density increase.
